Community Association

Mission Statement:

The mission of the Town Center Community Association is to encourage and support the highest quality of life possible in our community, by promoting responsibility and good citizenship, creating unity and a sense of community throughout its six neighborhoods, fostering a sense of security, and cultivating an appreciation for the uniqueness of Town Center, an urban community in a suburban setting.

Community Center:

Located in Historic Oakland, 5430 Vantage Point Road, Columbia, Maryland 21044.

A manor house built in 1811, Historic Oakland was first restored by the Columbia Association in 1989 and extensively renovated in 2004. In addition to being Town Center’s community center, Historic Oakland also provides rental space for meetings and social events, for 4 to 200 people. In 2007 and 2008 Historic Oakland had the honor of being voted "Best Place to Rent for Special Occasions" by the readers of Howard Magazine.
